MANLEY, Gervase Bird, “G.B.,” a Representative from Lycoming, Snyder and Union Counties; born, November 6, 1800 in Easthampton, Hampshire County, Ma.; private, Company F, 106th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1864, Civil War; prisoner of war, 1862); engaged, iron business; railroad contractor; building contractor; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1865 term, not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1866 term; died, May 30, 1872 in Crescent, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania; interred, Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
