BILLINGFELT, Esaias E., a Representative from Lancaster County; born, January 11, 1827 in Reamstown, Lancaster County, Pa.; teacher (1843-1848); day laborer; hat maker (1848-1850); surveyor (1850-1862); elected, justice of the peace, Adamstown (1850-1863); member, Lancaster County Republican Committee; chair, Lancaster County Republican Convention (1860); appointed, Deputy United States Marshall (1862); elected as a Union Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1864 term; reelected to the House as a Republican for the 1865 term; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1866-1872); farmer; died, June 1, 1905 in Adamstown, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
