REED, Dr. Robert Rentoul, a Representative from Beaver and Washington Counties; born, March 12, 1807 in Washington, Washington County, Pa.; graduated, medicine, Washington College (now Washington and Jefferson College), 1824; attended, Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College); physician; elected, United States Congress (1849-1851); elected, as a Union Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1864 term and as a Republican for the 1865 term; died while in office, prior to taking the oath, December 14, 1864 in Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, Washington Cemetery, Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
