McKINLEY, Samuel, a Representative from Butler, Lawrence and Mercer Counties; born, circa 1826 in Pennsylvania; druggist; lumberman; shoe salesman; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1864 and 1865; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1866); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1873-1875); orange grove farmer; died, November 7, 1899 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California; interred, Bellevue Memorial Park, Ontario, San Bernardino County, California.
