GRADY, Anthony, a Representative from Luzerne County; born, November 6, 1809 in Mayo County, Ireland; merchant; director, Carbondale and Providence Turnpike Company; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Carbondale (1853-1860); elected, mayor, Carbondale (1862-1865); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1865 and 1866 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1867 term; organizer and director, First National Bank, Carbondale; proprietor, Kirkendall, Stoddard, and Grady, wholesale grocers; died, April 11, 1872 in Wilkes Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, St. Rose Cemetery, Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
