HOUCK, Phillip Long, a Representative from Adams County; born, October 6, 1835 in Butler Township, Adams County, Pa.; sergeant, Company K, 30th Regiment, 6th Pennsylvania Voluntary Reserves (1861-1862, Civil War); first lieutenant, Company K, 184th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1864-1865, Civil War); farmer; engaged, dairy business; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1865; land surveyor; butcher; died, September 21, 1912 in Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania; interred, Gettysburg National Cemetery, Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania.
