ROSS, Moses Andrew, a Representative from Bedford, Fulton and Somerset Counties; born, September 14, 1805 near Masontown, Fayette County, Pa.; brigadier general, Addison Blues and Petersburg Infantry, Pennsylvania Militia (1828-1849); clerk; proprietor, general store (1833-1893); elected, school director, Addison Township, Pa.; township clerk, Addison Township (17 years); justice of the peace, magistrate, revenue commissioner and overseer of the poor, Addison Township, Pa.; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Addison, Pa. (1849-1852, 1869-1881); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1864 and 1865; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1866); died, December 12, 1893 in Petersburg, Somerset County, Pennsylvania; interred, Newbury Cemetery, Lower Turkeyfoot Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
