WALLACE, David, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, May 22, 1822 in County Cavan, Ireland; proprietor and boat operator, Schuylkill Canal; proprietor and manager, McDowell Mills, cotton; proprietor and manager, Lincoln Mills, cotton (1861-1889); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1866 and 1867 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1868 term; elected, city council, Philadelphia (1876-1883); director and president, Manayunk National Bank (1871-1897); director, Penny Savings Fund; died, July 18, 1897 in Manayunk, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
