CALVIN, Luther, a Representative from Bucks County; born, July 16, 1817 in Tinicum Township, Bucks County, Pa.; second lieutenant, Company D, 45th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1863, Civil War); farmer; boatman (1850-1852); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1853; reelected to the House in 1864, 1865 and 1866; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1854, 1867); supervisor, Durham Iron Works furnace; died, April 1, 1877 in Buckingham Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Upper Tinicum Cemetery, Upper Black Eddy, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
