MECHLING, Franklin, a Representative from Armstrong County; born, July 13, 1826 in Kittanning Township, Armstrong County, Pa.; second lieutenant, Company B, 78th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1864, Civil War); lawyer (1847-1900); elected, District Attorney, Armstrong County; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1866 and 1867 terms; not candidate for reelection to the House for the 1868 term; died, December 4, 1900 in Leechburg, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania; interred, Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
