LAWSHE, Robert Hamilton, a Representative from Lycoming, Snyder and Union Counties; born, April 8, 1825 in Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pa.; employed, tannery; farmer; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Salladasburg (1848-1851); appointed, superintendent, West Branch and Susquehanna Canal (1863); manager, Moshannon Land and Lumber Company (10 years); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1868 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1869 term; superintendent of construction, Pine Creek Railroad; contractor, Beech Creek Railroad; elected, council, Jersey Shore (1896-1900); died, April 14, 1902 in Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania; interred, Jersey Shore Cemetery, Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
