GORDON, William C., a Representative from Indiana and Westmoreland Counties; born, December 13, 1831 in Black Lick Township, Indiana County, Pa.; graduated, Washington College (now Washington & Jefferson College), 1859; captain, Company D, 206th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1864-1865, Civil War); farmer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1867 and 1868 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1869 term; clerk, American Sheet and Tin Plate Company (now American Steel Company); died, December 20, 1911 in Saltsburg, Indiana County, Pennsylvania; interred, Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
