GOUNDIE, George Henry, a Representative from Northampton County; born, August 23, 1805 in Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pa.; graduated, Nazareth Hall, 1815; manager, coach transportation company; merchant; presidential appointee, consul, Basle, Switzerland (1845-1849); presidential appointee, consul, Zurich, Switzerland; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1868 and 1869 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1870 term; died, November 23, 1877 in Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Nisky Hill Cemetery, Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
