BURRITT, Loren, a Representative from Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties; born, June of 1837 in Uniondale, Susquehanna County, Pa.; second lieutenant, Company K, 56th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1863, Civil War); brevet colonel, 8th United States Colored Troops, United States Army (1863-1865, Civil War); lawyer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1868 and 1869 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1870 term; died, November 11, 1889 in Athens, Bradford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Evergreen Cemetery, Owego, Tioga County, New York.
