NICHOLSON, Thomas, a Representative from Beaver and Washington Counties; born, August 26, 1804 in Lancaster County, Pa.; merchant; elected, justice of peace, Hanover Township, Washington County; superintendent, public schools, Beaver County; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1844, 1845, and 1846 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1847 term; unsuccessful campaign, Canal Commissioner (1855); cashier, Pennsylvania State Treasury; reelected to the House as a Republican for the 1868 and 1869 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1870 term; died, January 14, 1872 in Frankfort Springs, Beaver County, Pennsylvania; interred, Frankfort Springs Presbyterian Cemetery, Frankfort Springs, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
