CHURCH, Thomas E., a Representative from Lycoming, Snyder and Union Counties; born, 1820 in Chester County, Pa.; captain, Company E, 53rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1863, Civil War); elected, sheriff, Union County (1864-1867); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1869 and 1870 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1871 term; elected, treasurer, Union County (1878-1881); died, August 29, 1896 in Washington, District of Columbia; interred, Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia.
