HERR, Dr. Elias B., a Representative from Lancaster County; born, May 1, 1833 in Manor Township, Lancaster County, Pa; studied medicine under Dr. H. E. Muhlenberg; attended, Philadelphia Medical College; M.D., Bellevue Medical College, NY; physician; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1869; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1870); proprietor, drug store; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Creswell (1874-1885); died, April 29, 1904 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Creswell Cemetery, Conestoga, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
