MARSHALL, Dr. David M., a Representative from Indiana and Westmoreland Counties; born, December 19, 1825 in Conemaugh, Cambria County, Pa.; attendant, Jacksonville Academy; M.D., Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia; assistant surgeon, 103rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1863, Civil War); surgeon, 167th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1863, Civil War); physician; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Philips Mills, Pa.; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1869 and 1870 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1871 term; died, July 13, 1877 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
