DARLINGTON, Abel, a Representative from Chester County; born, February 22, 1810 in Westtown Township, Chester County, Pa.; farmer; elected, justice of the peace (1853-1869, 1871-1890); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1869; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1870); died, January 26, 1897 in Pocopson Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
