MEYER, Jacob G., a Representative from Centre County; born in Campbelltown, Lebanon County, Pa., October 16, 1824; attended, Lewisburg Academy; school and music teacher (1839-1865); farmer; music composer; grain dealer (1865-1897); president, Centre County Democratic Convention (1870); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1870 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1871 term; unsuccessful campaign, Register and Recorder, Centre County (1863); elected, delegate, State Democratic Convention (1875); died, November 6, 1897 in Aaronsburg, Centre County, Pennsylvania; interred, Aaronsburg Reformed Cemetery, Aaronsburg, Centre County, Pennsylvania.
