HURSH, Dr. George Rupp, a Representative from York County; born, February 6, 1835 in Fairview Township, York County, Pa.; M.D., Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College), 1857; physician; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1868 and 1869; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1870); farmer; president, Harrisburg Copper Mining and Smelting Company; died, May 3, 1888 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fairview Township, York County, Pennsylvania.
