PARSONS, John Emery, Sr., a Representative from Dauphin County, born on Duncan Island, Dauphin County, Pa., December 23, 1837; captain and assistant adjutant general, 149th Regiment, “Bucktails,” Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1864-1865, Civil War); lieutenant colonel, 187th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1865, Civil War); civil engineer; banker; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1869 and 1870; engaged, insurance and real estate business; died, July 18, 1914 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio; interred, Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio.
