POWNALL, Moses, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, July 23, 1815 in Sadsbury Township, Lancaster County, Pa.; elected, justice of the peace, Christiana (1846); co-owner, lumberyard and warehouse (1847-1854); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1851 and 1852; unsuccessful campaign, Canal Commissioner (1853); died, February 12, 1854 in Christiana, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Sadsbury Friends Burial Ground, Christiana, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
