CORAY, George, a Representative from Luzerne County; born, July 5, 1824 in Kingston, Luzerne County, Pa.; attended, Wyoming Seminary; merchant; engaged, milling industry; engaged, real estate; unsuccessful campaign as a Unionist, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1862); member, board of directors, Second National Bank Wilkes Barre (1863); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1870 and 1871 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1872 term; unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1872); died, December 28, 1883 in West Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Forty Fort Cemetery, Forty Fort, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
