TAYLOR, Dr. James M., a Representative from Armstrong and Westmoreland Counties; born, October 9, 1815 in Loyalhanna Township, Westmoreland County, Pa.; attended, subscription schools, Westmoreland and Indiana Counties; attended, Blairsville Academy; attended, Franklin Medical College (now Franklin and Marshall College), 1848-1849; M.D., Jefferson Medical College, 1851; weaver, teacher, physician; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1861 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1862 term; school director (20 years); established, Fairfield Academy; died, April 30, 1902 in West Fairfield, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Grandview Cemetery, Southmont, Cambria County, Pennsylvania
