ROGERS, Chauncey Porter, a Representative from Erie County; born, October 28, 1838 in Erie County, Pa.; captain, Company D, 83rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1864, Civil War); colonel, 83rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1865, Civil War); mail route agent, United States Postal Service; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1871; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1872); appointed, administrator, National Cemetery of Gettysburg (1887); died, February 20, 1920 in Corry, Erie County, Pennsylvania; interred, Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
