LEDERER, Raymond Francis, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., May 19, 1938; graduated, Roman Catholic High School, 1956; attended, St. Joseph’s College of Philadelphia, 1960-1965; attended, Community College of Philadelphia, 1967-1969; attended, The Pennsylvania State University, 1972; head football coach, St. Michael’s School; football commissioner, CYO; assistant engineer, Pennsylvania Department of Highways (1957); chair, Young Democrats for Kennedy & Johnson, 17th, 18th, and 19th Wards (1960); leader, 18th Ward Democratic Executive Committee; probation officer and director, Philadelphia Probation Department (1967-1974); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives by Special Election, May 21, 1974 to serve the remaining 1973 term; Sworn-In, June 10, 1974 and was reelected to the 1975 term; elected, United States Congress (1977-April 29, 1981); roofer; died, December 1, 2008 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
