GILFILLAN, John, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, May 10, 1826 in Upper Saint Clair, Allegheny County, Pa.; graduated, Bethel Academy; lawyer; sheep farmer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1863 term; reelected to the House for the 1872 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1864 or 1873 terms; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1877-1880); died, January 16, 1885 in Upper Saint Clair, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Bethel Cemetery, Bethel Park, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
