MORRIS, Oliver Goldsmith, a Representative from Montgomery County; born, March 26, 1837 in Line Lexington, Montgomery County, Pa.; attended, Treemount Seminary, Norristown, Pa.; elected, school director, Line Lexington; farmer; chair, Montgomery County Democratic Committee (10 years); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1870, 1871, and 1872; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1873); director, Stony Creek Railroad line, Reading Railroad (1873-1918); internal revenue collector, Bucks and Montgomery Counties (1885-1889); manager and treasurer, Line Lexington Mutual Fire Insurance Company; treasurer, Springfield and Hilltown Turnpike Company; died, February 12, 1918 in Hatfield Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hilltown Baptist Churchyard, Chalfont, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
