NYCE, Samuel Edwin, a Representative from Montgomery County; born, January 8, 1841; attended, Washington Hall Collegiate Institute, Trappe, Pa.; private, Company D, 65th Regiment, 5th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry (1861-1864); tobacco merchant; proprietor, grocery store; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1872; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1873); elected, prothonotary, Montgomery County (1893-1896); deputy prothonotary, Montgomery County (1897-1901); vice president and trust officer, Albertson Trust Company of Norristown (Penn Trust Company); elected, city treasurer, Zephyrhills, Fl.; died, July 20, 1928 in St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida; interred, Riverside Cemetery, Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
