SHULER, Joseph, a Representative from Dauphin and Perry Counties; born on June 22, 1811; gunsmith; elected, sheriff, Perry County (1838-1841); engaged, mercantile business (1842-1865); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Liverpool; proprietor, boat yard; unsuccessful campaign for the House (1850); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1871 and 1872; died, March 6, 1879 in Liverpool, Perry County, Pennsylvania; interred, Liverpool Union Cemetery, Liverpool, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
