WILLIAMS, Muhlenberg, a Representative from Cumberland County; born, 1835 in North Middleton Township, Cumberland County, Pa.; attended, Newville Academy; teacher (3 years); attorney (1860-1896); school director, Newville; appointed, assistant assessor, 15th district, Pennsylvania; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1872; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1873); elected, auditor, Newville (3 years); elected, school board, Newville (1877-1886); elected, secretary, school board, North Newton Township (1884-1886); died, December 11, 1896 in Newville, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Prospect Hill Cemetery, Newville, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
