AMERMAN, Jesse C., a Representative from Montour and Northumberland Counties; born, February 4, 1821 in Northumberland County, Pa.; sergeant major, 53rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1863, Civil War); engaged, boating industry; teacher (6 years); merchant; farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1873 and 1874 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1875 term; died, March 3, 1900 in Danville, Montour County, Pennsylvania; Interred, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville, Montour County, Pennsylvania.
