TERRY, Uriah, a Representative from Bradford County; born, October 30, 1813 in Terrytown, Bradford County, Pa.; farmer; engaged, lumber business; elected, justice of the peace, Asylum, Pa. (1845-1850); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1862, 1863); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1874 and 1875; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1876); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Terrytown (1885-1889); died, July 16, 1900 in Terrytown, Bradford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Terrytown Cemetery, Terrytown, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
