PIPER, Dr. Henry Beam, a Representative from Westmoreland County; born, October 15, 1831 in Westmoreland County, Pa.; M.D., Philadelphia University of Medicine and Surgery, 1866; captain, Company E, 11th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1864, Civil War); teacher; physician (1866-1895); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1874, 1875 and 1876 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1877 term; chair, Blair County Democratic Committee; died, June 22, 1895 in Tyrone, Blair County, Pennsylvania; interred, Grandview Cemetery, Tyrone, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
