MYLIN, Amos Herr, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, September 29, 1837 in West Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, Pa.; attended, Phillips Academy, Andover, Ma.; LL.B., law department, University of Pennsylvania, 1864; corporal, Company B, 50th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1863, Civil War); farmer; attorney (1864-1868); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1872, 1873, 1874, and 1875; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1877-1892); elected, Senate President pro tempore (extra session of 1883, 1885-1886); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania Auditor General (1891); elected, Pennsylvania Auditor General (1895-1898); died, July 30, 1926 in Manheim Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania; interred, Woodward Hill Cemetery, Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
