MATEER, Henry H., a Representative from Huntingdon County; born, December 5, 1819 in Mount Joy, Lancaster County, Pa.; corporal, Company K, 185th Regiment, 3rd Pennsylvania Cavalry (1864-1865, Civil War); plasterer; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican to serve the 1875 term; reelected to the House as an Independent to serve the 1876 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1877); justice of the peace; died, June 7, 1911 in Juniata, Blair County, Pennsylvania; interred, Rose Hill Cemetery, Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
