McNITE, Dr. William Postlethwaite, a Representative from Huntingdon County; born, August 31, 1832 Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, Pa.; attended, Millwood Academy, Whitehall Academy and Juniata Academy; graduated, Jefferson College (Washington and Jefferson College), 1857; M.D., Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College),1860; physician; elected, school director and burgess, Shirleysburg; elected, coroner, Huntingdon County (1873-1876); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat for the 1875 and 1876 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House to the 1877 term; died, July 27, 1888 in Shirleysburg, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Douglas Cemetery; Shirleysburg, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.
