LEWIS, William Jones, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born October 28, 1831 in Bedwellty (now Islwyn), Monmouthshire, South Wales; miner; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1867); superintendent, Miller, Graeff & Co. colliery; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1874 and 1875; died while in office, October 28, 1876 in Lower Rausch Creek, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
