BOYD, Thomas Young, a Representative from Pike and Wayne Counties; born, January 6, 1823 in Damascus Township, Wayne County, Pa.; engaged, lumber business; proprietor, gristmill, sawmill and blacksmith shop; farmer; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Eldred, Pa. (1854-1855) and Boyd’s Mills, Pa. (1855-1859, 1869-1874, 1882-1885); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in a Special Election on March 24, 1874; Sworn-In, April 7, 1874 to serve the remaining 1874 term; reelected to the House as a Republican for the 1875 and 1876 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1877 term; elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (1888); died, March 7, 1889 in in Damascus, Wayne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Calkins Union Cemetery, Milanville, Wayne County, Pennsylvania.
