SPANG, George H., a Representative from Bedford County; born, February 16, 1830 in Roaring Spring, Blair County, Pa.; attended, Marshall College, Mercersburg, Pa.; graduated, Pennsylvania College (Gettysburg College), 1852; attorney-at-law (1854-1897); appointed, District Attorney, Bedford County (1856); elected, District Attorney, Bedford County (1856-1862); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1875, 1876, 1877 and 1878 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1879 term; died, June 17, 1897 in Martinsburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
