SCHELL, William Peter, a Representative from Bedford, Cambria and Fulton Counties; born, February 18, 1822 in Schellsburg, Bedford County, Pa.; attended, Marshall College (Franklin & Marshall College); attorney-at-law; elected, District Attorney, Fulton County (1851); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1852 and 1853 terms; elected, Speaker (1853); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1858-1860); reelected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1877 and 1878 terms; resigned from the House, May 3, 1878; elected, Pennsylvania Auditor General (1878-1880); died, November 15, 1908 in the borough of Bedford, Bedford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Bedford Cemetery, Bedford, Bedford County, Pennsylvania.
