SCARBOROUGH, Hiram, a Representative from Bucks County; born, January 19, 1806 in Solebury Township, Bucks County, Pa.; blacksmith; proprietor, shad and salmon fish hatcheries; retail cigar dealer; engaged, real estate; toll collector, Delaware Bridge (35 years); elected, Pennsylvania Democratic Conventions; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as Democrat in 1876; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1878); member, Joint Fish Commissioners of Pennsylvania and New Jersey; director, Amwell National Bank; died, March 9, 1888 in New Hope, Bucks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Solebury Friends Burying Grounds, Solebury, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
