ROBERTS, Walter Brooke, a Representative from Crawford County; born, May 15, 1823 in Moreau, Saratoga County, NY; attended, Glen Falls Academy; dentist; artificial teeth manufacturer; organized, New York College of Dentistry; editor, New York Dental Journal; president, Roberts Petroleum Torpedo Company (1866-1889); elected, common council, city of New York (1867-1868); president, Buffalo & Titusville Railroad Co.; organized, Roberts & Co., banking company; elected, mayor, Titusville (1873-1876); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1877 and 1878 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1879); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1879-1882); died, July 30, 1889 in Titusville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greenwood Cemetery, Titusville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.
