O’NEILL, Harry, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, April 21, 1842 in Chester County, Pa.; first lieutenant, Company D (1861-1862), Company I (1862-1865), 88th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1865, Civil War; prisoner of war, 1863); appointed, assessor, 7th Ward, Philadelphia; clerk, Treasurers’ office, Philadelphia; elected as a Republican to Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1873; reelected to serve 4 more consecutive terms; died while in office, February 4, 1878 in California; interred, Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose, Santa Clara County, California.
