McELROY, Samuel, Jr., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, September 25, 1834 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.; graduated, Pittsburgh College of Pharmacy (now University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy), 1880; foreman, McIntosh, Hemphill & Company, machinists; engaged, lumber business; engaged, sand business; member, city board of revision, Pittsburgh; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1876 and 1877; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1878); druggist; elected, school director, Wilkinsburg (1883-1889); died, July 30, 1889 in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
