LONGAKER, Montgomery S., a Representative from Montgomery County; born, December 24, 1842 in Crooked Hill, Montgomery County, Pa.; merchant; engaged, livestock business; engaged, wholesale wine and liquor business; deputy treasurer, Montgomery County (1865-1866); chief burgess, Pottstown (1875-1876); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1876 and 1877; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1878, 1880); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Pottstown (1886-1890, 1894-1895); died, October 4, 1923 in Limerick Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Pottstown Cemetery, Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
