JUDGE, George, a Representative from Luzerne County; born, September 2, 1823 in Crossmalina, County Mayo, Ireland; drafted, unknown service, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1864, Civil War); carpenter; hotel proprietor; elected, school director, Pittston Township (1866-1872); elected, president, Miners’ and Laborers’ Benevolent Society of Pittston (1870); elected, tax collector, Pittston Township (1871-1877); appointed, road supervisor, Pittston Township (1874-1877); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1876 and 1877; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1878); died, December 22, 1885 in Pittston Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Market Street Cemetery (now Saint John the Evangelist Cemetery), Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
