JACKSON, Edwin Wallace, a Representative from Mercer County; born, November 1, 1847 in Big Beaver Township, Beaver (now Lawrence) County, Pa.; attended, New Castle High School; attended, Northwest State Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University, Edinboro); private, Company A, 55th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1863, Civil War); private, Company I, 212th Regiment, 6th Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery (1864-1865, Civil War); teacher; lawyer (1869-1921); school director, Mercer County; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1875, 1876, 1877 and 1878 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House to serve the 1879 term; unsuccessful campaign, judge, Mercer County; unsuccessful campaign, solicitor, Dauphin County; died, January 10, 1924 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Paxtang Cemetery, Paxtang, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
