HUNTER, Dr. Robert Irvin, a Representative from Fulton County; born, July 9, 1831 in Upper Strasburg, Franklin County, Pa.; M.D., Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College), 1855; hospital steward, Company C, 2nd Regiment, Iowa Cavalry (1861-1864, Civil War); private, Company E, 173rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1863, Civil War); physician and surgeon; engaged in farming; elected, coroner, Franklin County; elected, school director (12 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1876; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1878); died, July 15, 1891, Wells Valley, Fulton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Wells Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Wells Tannery, Fulton County, Pennsylvania.
